Here I am!

Where have I been, you ask?

Well, here, of course just not here, on my blog. Life has been coming at me in all sorts of ways, nothing too big, but enough to keep me busy and not doing all the things I want to do, like blogging. Dave's been bugging me to BLOG, DAMMIT, and I have finally taken the drastic step of NOT going to bed early, but BLOGGING , instead.

I've been fighting (in fact, lost the battle with) a terrible cold/virus thing. It started last week, and I felt it coming on and I was FRANTIC because Dave and I were going away for the first time in 9 years without kids. (well, we'll not count the one night booze cruise when Aedan was 8 months, because I don't remember it) and I so didn't want to be sick. Sick I was, no voice and all, but we went!

Well, the truth was that we went to see a doctor for Dave- a special cardiologist at the  Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy Center who deals only with Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy. Dr.Maren was wonderurful. He set our miunds at ease, confirming that Dave does indeed have this disease, and in fact, has the left ventricular outflow tract obstruction as well, but that he feels that all will be fine. management with meds should contain it.  He did say that Dave was the genetic mutant that started the disease in the family. Anyone see Mr. Magroriums Magic Emporium? Wasn't the accountant in that called Mutant, too? Interesting....

But, after that Doctor visit, we were FREE.   We explored Boston, that wonderful, beautiful city.  Guess what?? We had a WHOLE BED TO OURSELVES. (If you ever get to stay at the Shereton at Copley Square, you'll know what I mean. I begged Dave to get me one!)  Yes, not a child in it. As much as I love my childen, it was a  joy to spend  time with just Dave. We walked, and talked and connected in a way we haven't for a long time.  We ate at great places, had tea at a tea house, shopped on Newberry Street, visited Chinatown and Quincey Market and even had dinner with my Loppie sister, Janna  and her husband, Ken, who drove up from New Hampshire.

Janna and I can talk for HOURS. We had an amazing dinner and  then we went window shopping and it was so much fun to see them! Dscn4446 Dscn4447 We even found aTeuscher Chocolates!  It was a great trip, all around, it restored some part of my soul that was longing for a break, and it was wonderful spending time with the man I love most in this world. I understand what "they" meant when they say that i'ts important to get away just the two of you, not only did I get a break, but we had a  3 night date that renewed us. I highly recommend it.

My kids were highly diappointed that we did not stay at the Tipton, nor did we see Zack and Cody and Maddy and London. Oh, well.

So, I am back. I will promise to try to blog more, even in this crazy holiday time. If you missed me, let me know!  Leave a comment, say hello,  send a smile!

Tomorrow, I'll try to get some pics of the Christmas tree!
